Forge uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect the angle of your elbows. When both elbows go from fully extended (≥155°) → bent (≤95°) → extended again, that counts as one rep. No video is ever recorded, uploaded, or stored.
Prop your phone so the front camera sees your whole body — head, shoulders, elbows, wrists. The visibility pill at the top right tells you how clearly Forge can see you. Aim for at least 80%. Even lighting helps too.
Real iOS app-blocking requires Apple's Family Controls entitlement, which is granted by application (1–4 weeks). Until then Forge runs in "honor mode": it sends a time-sensitive notification when your session ends, and asks you to close the gated app yourself.
By default: 2 push-ups per minute for the first 10 minutes, then 0.5 push-ups per minute beyond that. So 10 min = 20 push-ups, 30 min = 30 push-ups, 60 min = 35 push-ups. You can tune both rates in Schedule → Push-up formula.
Each day-of-week has a free minute allowance — sessions within that window cost zero push-ups. Once it's used up for the day, every additional minute costs push-ups. Configure per-day in the Schedule tab.
To count push-ups. Frames stay in memory only and are discarded immediately. You can revoke camera access any time in iOS Settings → Forge → Camera.
All Forge data lives on your device. Delete the app to remove everything. There's no cloud copy.
